I had a similar WN flight delay text sequence probably about five years ago. I was already at the airport when it all started. Went for short delay, to an hour, to multiple hours (went to club), to on time (rushed out of club), to delayed 15 min... They started boarding people and we probably have only like 40% of people there. They sat around a little longer to wait for some more people to clear security that they knew where they because they had just checked bags... My flight definitely left without a lot of people due to this flight delay text debacle... the crew were even talking about it and how sorry they were for the confusion. It's frustrating, but of course I was happy to get out somewhat on time. For the people who had missed, I would be upset if I were them.
