This sounds like a case where you don't understand what a "direct flight" is.

A nonstop flight operates from origin to destination without touching down at another airport.

A direct flight operates from origin to destination under the same flight number, but may stop at some number of other airports along the way. Traditionally a direct flight did this with the same aircraft, although you can now book "technically direct" flights that are effectively connections because you change aircraft at the stop; this is called a "direct flight with change of gauge".

If you claim you are looking for "not direct" options to PTP, that literally means any combination of flights from any city that can get you to PTP, which is basically an unlimited number of options. There are "not direct" flights to PTP from every US airport with commercial service.

Wikipedia does a fairly good job of listing nonstop destinations from a particular airport; for PTP from the US this is just MIA and JFK.
