"Legless But Smiling"

OK - maybe not the right forum, but I think only a Brit would know this one.

Whie out in Cornwall a couple of weeks ago, there were a couple of places where we could get "scrumpy" (sp?). The most popular brand had the slogan "Legless but Smiling"

Now what the he11 does that mean? Is that like "Third Degree Burns but Upper Lip Still Stiff"? Or "My Arm May Be Broken, But At Least I Can Still Crawl"

Who would invent a slogan like that? What's it all about, then, eh?
