Before this gets too confused, it can probably be wrapped up by pointing out that in the USA, there is no product available that is really comparable to what we call bacon in the UK (although our bacon is a bit more like ham than their bacon, which might wexpain the easrlier posting).
Whatever, those of us living this side of the pond should be happy to have our bacon and not complain.
