I got about 18 hours notice last night that my flight today was cancelled, with the cancellation message saying no alternative flights were available within 48 hours. I called to get rebooked and was quoted a 40 minute hold time, but it didn't give me a call back option. I had to wait on hold. Actual hold time ended up being 65 minutes. Have they eliminated the callback option or do they just suspend it during operational meltdowns?
