I don't have an explanation for your situation, but I recently saw my point total go down when an award stay posted. I had a paid stay at the same property before the award stay. The paid stay posted during the award stay. When the points for the incidentals during the award stay posted later my point total went down. I called the Diamond line and they fixed it. They said that this happens sometimes when the system tries to adjust the paid stay for taxes a second time.
Gotta watch those point totals.
