I can't help but notice that they have increased last minute fares over the last few years, more than FPs perhaps? Maybe they are just trying to bring FPs more in line with the ridiculous last minute fares?
For example YEG-YYJ is pricing out around $800 this week one way, in economy. I also checked routes like YOW-YUL, and YUL-YQB and last minute fares are similar. A few years back last minute YEG-YYJ was more like $400, and the western commuter flex was about $250 per credit.
