So now that I live in New Orleans, I never expected to have to rent a car at MSY again, but I flew back from NYC today and my car, with my mechanic in Elmwood (FLYMSY, I think you referred him to me; he’s great), wasn’t ready to come home, so I rented a car for the weekend from Avis. Wow, how inconvenient. Whereas at the old terminal you would walk to the rental car center, as has been reported in this thread you now need to take a shuttle bus. That puts MSY in line with most airports, but I wasn’t expecting it to be a 20-minute bus ride. And it’s not that it’s that far away; I’ve never been on a shuttle bus that was driven that slowly! I’m pretty sure I could have walked faster. And it really was a full 20 minutes, although I felt to me more like two hours. Ugh, I hope I don’t have to do this again!
