Had a similar experience at the LHR arrivals lounge (managed by said Germanic *A partner). BP wasn't sufficient b/c mine doesn't read SE 100K (which is what they look for). Mine reads SE MM. "What is MM?" After much discussion, my card displayed from the app was accepted.
I'm not sure that BPs say SE 100K anymore. Off a quick look my dad's most recent AC BP says SE - P - AC*G (no MM status), so I'm not sure what that was about.
