To answer my own question, from Virgin Flying Club terms:
Earning miles:
All Malaysia Airlines' International sectors are eligible for accrual.
Miles will be issued to flying club members when travelling in the following qualifying classes:
International sectors only:
First Class: F, A,
Business Class: C, D,
Economy Class: Y
Discounted Economy Class: M, B, K, Q, H.
Miles will not be earned on domestic sectors, all MH9000 series code-shared flights and charter flights.
Spending miles:
On all Malaysia Airlines' international and domestic routes except MH9000 series code-shared flights. All reward flights are subject to availability.
