I very much doubt that Aeroflot had 70 flights per week. I live under the flight path and didn't often see Aeroflot planes overhead. I would guess max 2 flights per day. However, now that "use it or lose it" has returned, clearly Aeroflot will lose its slots for the next summer season. I'm surprised that they haven't come to some form of arrangement with their SkyTeam partners to repurpose them (despite sanctions) but perhaps LHR didn't permit that (they normally would). BA normally is the buyer who sweeps up spare spots, but they are having to fill the slots they used to use for their Asian and Russian flights so perhaps unusually they were a low bidder.
