If it makes you feel any better, RIC-DEN (almost 1500 miles) mainline morning flight serves the same garbage. I don't understand why they can't board catering in Denver, store it on dry ice overnight, and serve it in the morning. That's what they did pre-pandemic. What changed? Probably the budget.
Exactly. I’ve flown flights even earlier in the morning for PHX to IAH when they had a flight earlier than that and it had hot food
