I don't expect the 321T fleet to away immediately when the first XLR arrives, it will likely be a gradual phaseout. You're right though, they could easily use 788/789/772/773 on some of the transcons if they feel it makes sense. It's going to become like UA and DL, you are promised a lie-flat (i.e. Polaris/Delta One) but it could be one of several different aircraft types in theory. I do expect the transcons to be primarily (if not fully) XLR when that fleet is ramped up though.
