Definitely go with the SWUs. While I'm lucky to have flexible travel availability, This past year I've been able to clear at booking: DFW-EZE, EZE-DFW, LHR-DFW, JFK-MXP, MUC-CLT, JFK-DEL (that was an insane clear at booking) along with ORD-ATH x 2 the day before departure. There is still use for them and 85k miles will only get you a MileSAAver business long haul (which tends to mirror C class availability anyway).
