Just realize this realized this recent discussion got off in the wrong direction.
OP is asking for using ANA miles via the *A upgrade process to upgrade a UA flight. Discussion of I space was not correct for a UA operated flight, that is not the process UA uses (although most other *A carriers do for their operated flights). So it is correct for the flight now to be waitlisted for PZ, and it will use the standard PZ waitlist priorities.
