Many Moons ago I used to live under the extended centre line for Farnborough (in those days it was runway 25 but I believe it is now runway 24!).

Back then it was just a "Government" airfield and we didn't get much traffic except for in-frequent Devon, Andover, Canberra, Comet, Twin Otter, Hunter movements and the C130 used for atmospheric testing. As time moved on I rememeber getting a flyer through for local residents opposed to the "proposed" expansion of Farnborough Airfield and they formed a group call RAIN - Residents against increased noise. Needless to say, I wanted more noise as was way more interesting.

Although now a commercial airfield I don't think Farnborough gets many more movements than it had back in the day as the Military Movements have been replaced by civil ones and the types of aircraft flying in and out are pretty small.
