I remember the old train. It was indeed slow. But there was really no other good way to change terminals, I don't remember there being shuttle buses. You can still see remnants of the old track (concrete paths) between the terminals paralleling Intentional Pkwy, the main airport access road. Visible from the A-B & C-D connectors. Skylink is a vast improvement.
