Raising rates after going away from a big brand affiliation and distribution arrangement may seem peculiar on some level, but maybe this is the owners' prep in the run to a new affiliation.
I mean people from Chicago know this property as cheap and trashy. It definitely doesn’t do anything to stand out even as a boutique hotel.
We stayed here over Christmas and New Years police had to come break up several trashy parties with smoking everywhere.
They even have to have very visible off duty police stay in the lobby to continue operations.
As for the quality of the rooms nothing special, and quite lackluster in comparison even to mid-Hyatts in Chicago like HC Magnificent Mile up the street.
Not a great investment, definitely better properties to invest in.
