I have to say this change in breakfast has definitely resulted in my changing my booking preferences. I used to pretty much always gravitate to either the HGIs or Hilton but I have been rerouting to a lot more Embassy Suites and Homewood Suites where I at the very least know what I am getting for breakfast without the credit hassle. The loss of the made to order breakfast at HGIs really diminished their appeal.
Embassy and Homewood when reasonable, have always been the better choice for me! Suites, breakfast, weekday drinks. Saves a lot of people a lot of frustration when they expect these things each time.
