UA Customer Service have come to my rescue in past.
Booked LAX/LIH, I was booked on a 752 with lie-flat seats. Following an equipment change, an ex-CO 753 was substituted … no lie-flat seats. UA credited me USD$400.
A reroute via ORD seems, or a travel credit, or both(!) may be possible.
