Any insinuation about "mistake fare" that passenger "ought to know" about is just that - pure speculation.
Airlines have been 100% successful in the past in claiming that there is no valid contract in EU261 claims for mistake fares. They may choose to honor this fare (hopefully), but they have no obligation to do so.
