I recall from studying contract law (in the distant past) the main 3 components being - offer, acceptance and consideration. All 3 were present, and (while I can't speak for others), I certainly accepted the offer in good faith and duly paid for it.

As someone who searches for airfares continuously and buys dozens of airline tickets annually, I've seen fares high and low, and have absolutely no way (nor desire) to second guess the reasoning of the other party. They made the offer voluntarily, and I accepted it voluntarily. The contract was properly formed.

Any insinuation about "mistake fare" that passenger "ought to know" about is just that - pure speculation.
