There's almost never an official announcement one way or the other (the airline doesn't want to draw any more attention to these incidents), so the best you'll get is radio silence and an intact ticket. Typically you're safe after 2 weeks of that
Realistically, they're not going to be vindictive and say, cancel your flight in the week before travel if you booked far out, or at the check-in desk. Unless there's a change you try to make at the check-in desk that forces a re-ticketing that then shows them the price, etc... the only instance of this I see documented is that Prince of Travel guy who tried to skip the first segment on an Algeria => Paris => USA Air France fare, which caused the check-in agent to look at the ticket and tell him he could fly in Economy or walk away.
