A simple question that I'm sure has been posed and answered a dozen times, but I can't locate it (nor the definitive answer).
One way to qualify for MVP Gold in 2022 is to accrue 40,000 eligible miles on Alaska Airlines, oneworld Alliance and Global Partners, plus take 6 flights marketed and operated by Alaska Airlines. My question is in regard to the 6 AS flights. Specifically, do redemption flights count for this requirement? I am nearly certain that flights taken by individuals designated as companions on companion fares get counted, but I'd appreciate confirmation whether flights flown as miles rewards count as well. If so, are there special issues that need to be addressed during ticketing or check-in if the miles come from someone else's account, or are from a different program (i.e. AAdvantage or BAEC)? TIA for a link to where this has been discussed previously .
