On my return from KIX to ORD, I stopped at the ORD Terminal C RCC. I gave my KIX>ORD stub to the gatekeeper and she scanned it. She then peered at her screen for a long time and asked me if I was a RCC member. I told her I was 1P and on an international trip. She then asked me for my card to prove it. I told her it was printed right on my boarding pass. She wanted to seem my card anyway, which I showed her.

Since she did not offer me drink chits, I asked for them. No, that's only for departing passengers. I replied that I've always been offered them and the rules don't have that restriction. You're not going to get any, was her answer.

I "just happened" to have a copy of the rules with me, thanks to this board, and I showed it to her. She read it laboriously and said that it did not actually state that restriction, but that she would not give them to me because "I make the rules here!"

I have her name. Is it worth writing to United about this? I had several chits from previous trips so I got my beer anyway.

As an aside, the C Terminal RCC is in terrible shape. The chairs are broken down, the carpet is dirty and they have the worst snacks.
