Here's the thing about pre-boarding at JFK. No one really knows when the aircraft is actually going to be ready for boarding, due to cabin preparation, until it is ready. Unless boarding at Gate 2, pre-boarding is pretty hit or miss due to no one's fault. T1 is super busy due to more flights now, more taxi-way delays on arrivals, and turnaround times are thus more unpredictable. For an on-time flight, boarding can begin anywhere from 30 minutes early, or 15 minutes late. There is no crystal ball for this. While the desire to have on-time departures is in everyone's interest, it's unfortunately unrealistic to delay general boarding if the aircraft is ready early, when it could take 15 minutes to get P class pax from the lounge to the aircraft. Recommend post boarding if one wants to ensure a more exclusive experience.
