Yes, you can connect overnight but OZ is not going to provide a transit hotel. You'll have to stay airside overnight unless you qualify to enter the country without having to quarantine. Things might change by next year unless you're talking about this lunar new year. But there are a few places that should be comfortable enough to rest for a few hours.
