In contrast, BA has to make decisions every day for the next seven months about how much money to take for those seats, and BA wants to maximise how much cash it ultimately gets for them. So taking your cash now for those seats, at a rock-bottom price, and with little chance of churning those seats later for more cash, may not be the most sensible thing for BA to do right now. That's the sort of thinking that may be going on at BA's end.
