Just out of curiosity, assuming this is a normal roundtrip, what exactly are you trying to "protect" by having everything on one PNR?
I feel like i have read about issues with obligations of carriage if two separate one-way tickets are booked, instead of a round trip. i may be confusing this with something else though.
