Wow, was there anything else at play? Did he know about the pet compartments (not that he should have, but haven’t we all corrected someone)? I am surprised because I have had no trouble from any FA, GA, check in agent. AA’s own pet checkin form which I’ve seen an agent fill out even has a question to validate the passenger is on a suitable aircraft and that includes the A321T.
