I’d consider this an enhancement. Legacy AA cups were smaller and made for a perfectly proportioned PDB G&T. They ended up keeping the larger legacy US plastic cup size, which results in far too much tonic usually (if pre-mixed by the FA). Fortunately, the shift back to glassware (and, unfortunately, the elimination of PDBs) seems to have mostly solved this terrible problem for now.
