I just went and checked the AAdvantage websites and there is still a lack of clarity on this aspect of the program (a few examples would be great American), the language currently says all base miles will count as Loyalty Points, bonus miles will not. That is pretty clear, but some folks here on FT find that policy to be unlikely to be sustainable (it seems unlikely to me). I would be happy if that does turn out to be the policy as someone who plans on earning elite status primarily through credit card spend and partners with little flying on AA, but it just seems unlikely in the long-term. As we learned just this week with the SimplyMiles Holiday 5x Promo, sometimes folks running these programs have not thought things out as well in advance as you may think.

I would not be surprised if things work one way on January 1, 2022 and then change at some point after that with regards to partner earnings and how they are reflected as Loyalty Points.
