FYI:
They *are* charging the resort fee. $29 + tax. Not sure what that buys besides borrowing a towel, so, you know, total BS.
Also: While they are serving breakfast and coffee in the coffeeshop (nothing extravagant, but things like egg sandwiches), they will not give Plat / Titanium / AMB any credit towards breakfast. Instead of the previous $15 pp credit, you now just get 1,000 points plus 750 points per night.
I asked why, if they can *serve breakfast*, they can't give the credit and the answer was that "It's a management decision." She fully got that to an informed customer this reads as total BS, but it is what it is.
Did get a nice upgrade to a corner suite. Hotel felt like a cross between a W and an Aloft. Pool was nice. Bar is a scene; you need to put your name down and wait for a text a few hours later to enter. If you want to go after dinner, put your name down before you go.
Location was safe and central for just exploring the area. Obviously not on the beach.
