Is he the winner so far?
Well, the list of 317 used by the Travelers Century Club is quite different from the list most of us are using. The Travelers Century Club in some cases breaks up sovereign nations into smaller units. For example, the San Blas Islands are part of the Republic of Panama. I've been to those islands, so that would add one to my total count. And I'm pretty sure there are other differences that would also increase my count slightly.

Most of us posting here are more or less using the list of 250 countries that ozstamps posted at the beginning of this thread:
