Haven’t stayed at the Westin, but I stayed at the Republic (Autograph Collection) back in November. It was fine, nothing memorable but decent enough. If you want to be near Gaslamp though, it’s a bit of a hike if you’re planning to walk it. Definitely doable, but it’s about 15~25 minutes depending on how quickly you walk, with a 7y/o may be a bit challenging. Easy Uber ride though.
