This did backfire on me. I changed the date from the 28th to the 2nd because I wanted to get in on the grocery 300 credit before the end of June. But now they changed my dashboard to statement ending in July instead of June. Thanks, chase!
I've had this happen with AMEX too. IME when you change your closing/statement date they always do it by lengthening the current or next billing cycle, never by shortening the current one.
