It depends on what your priorities are.

That week, I would guess the Grand Hyatt would be particularly busy and the beach area will probably be more of a party/club atmosphere.

If you want a relaxed / more remote experience, then Mayakoba fits that description. If you want to be in the center of things, then Grand Hyatt is better.

For upgrades, it's hard to tell right now. Both properties are (most likely at that time) still going to be operating under state imposed capacity limits so it's difficult to tell how they're going to be allocating rooms or dealing with upgrades when they're "at capacity"/"fully booked". If you're not seeing any suites available with cash rates at the Andaz then it's very unlikely that you'll get a suite at check in.

As discussed up thread, I generally view the Globalist treatment (and customer service in general) at the Grand Hyatt as being far superior to the Andaz. If you're placing more value on Globalist benefits vs. property type (golf resort vs. center of town) then definitely go with Grand Hyatt.
