I'm not 100% sure what the technically correct answer is, and I won't guess and risk giving you bad info. What a I will recommend is that you call in (assuming wait times aren't terrible, which they might be on a day like today). People have reported that agents are being fairly flexible with weather-related accommodations.
Unfortunately I called and got a wait time of 3 to 5 hours, which is what brought me here.
I'm actually hoping that I might be able to SDC in the airport if a flight looks like it will definitely depart. So I think I'm most likely just going to have to find out in the moment either way.
