I was notified that my point balance would expire in 3 months since I didn't have any activity since mid-2019. I booked a one night Country Inn & Suites reservation in NE for 9,000 points. I cancelled the reservation the next day (waited one day out of caution, but prior post shows you can likely cancel right away). Immediately after cancelling, I confirmed with CS over the phone that due to the recent activity in my account, my expiration had reset to 2 years from today. I asked about if the cancellation would impact this and explained what I had done to keep my account active. Her response was "that was clever!" but it still counts as activity
