the article seems to suggest that the decision to sell was due to the financial troubles of the parent company rather than the property itself, which i believe was being run quite well even during the pandemic by attracting the local staycationers and buffet-goers. Probably a case of the parent co needing an urgent injection of large sum of capital to protect its balance sheet that led to this fire sale.
I am with the rest of you who are very sad to see this one go.
