So, in a practical sense, is there any advantage in using a SNA compared to just trying to get an upgrade for Plat or Titanium status?
For example, I am planning to visit the Playa Largo resort in April. I have a number of rooms booked and I applied a SNA to 2 of them for 3 days. The rooms are the only ones you can book with points, which have no view. I really would like to get a 2 bedroom suite out of it. I only selected a 2 bdr suite as the upgrade option.
I e-mailed the hotel and told them what I was planning, and of course I received the reply that nothing is guaranteed, and that a SNA, if used, only guarantees me a one category upgrade, not a suite. If available, shouldn't I be eligible for an upgraded view just from being a Plat or Titianium member? Why would i pick just an upgraded view?
New to the process so any advice or wisdom is appreciated.
