Sorry to be a kill joy, but it's worth pointing out that there is no guarantee BA will be flying the A380 next year, let alone to Jo'burg.
I would select the routes that work best for your trip, particularly if you've only got 1 week in SA, and avoid getting fixated on a/c type.
