Now United needs to look at the other obsolete 40+ city ticket offices in Mexico, Central and South America and other places -- something like over 15 offices in Mexico alone? Even people in some of the poorest places have cell phones and internet access and if they don't, it's a pretty safe bet they are not planning on traveling anywhere. Clean house United - overkill, overload, overstaffed everywhere. Save some money.
I think you answered your own question. In rest of the world, cash is still king, and people still rely on in-person transactions instead of over the phone or internet.
