I'd agree. Holding your nerve is probably the only thing you can do. Personally I don't see LGW - LAS flights restarting anytime soon. As for LHR - LAS this would, as you say, be dependent on LAS becoming a designated approved entry point into the USA as well as a relaxation of the current restrictions on who can fly to the USA. I'm holding out for November but I am starting to think that may be optimistic.
