I remember the partnership when I was flying JFK-SYR/ROC years ago. While I will use that sometimes, what this does is allow more leisure flying to Florida assuming they codeshare those flights. Other than MIA, there's only one other direct flight (please correct me if wrong) from NY to Florida and that's to MCO. This for me is a plus as my son will likely be relocating to Orlando within the next two months.
