The videos are certainly high quality productions, and give a good idea of some of the changes ; even if BA’s policy relating to one of the key issues - the need for masks (whether for crew or passengers) - remains very ambiguous.

Anyone hoping for advance notification of catering arrangements ahead of their flight will find no help at all from the videos - not even from the one specifically titled ‘What to expect on board’ - which manages to be totally silent on what to expect onboard in the way of food & drink.

So it may be helpful to check out the FAQ section on the website. I’m not sure who does the proof-reading of the web content, but you can’t help wonder whether the information given is a) reliably accurate and / or b) somewhat conflicting .....

This is the first question & answer on ba.com about inflight catering :

Are meals provided on flights ?

Yes. Working closely with our caterers, we have made some changes to what’s available on board. Our new food service requires less interaction with our cabin crew, greatly reducing physical contact.

It is then followed up with this :

What meals are served on board ?

If you're travelling on a short-haul flight, We'll be offering complimentary light refreshments and water and hot drinks will be available on request. If you're travelling on a long-haul flight we'll be offering a selection of light refreshments as well as hot and soft drinks.

and then this .....

Can you still buy food on board ?

Our buy on board short-haul service will be temporarily suspended, but we'll be providing you with a complimentary meal instead.

So ......we can apparently now look forward to a ‘complimentary meal’ (as opposed to biscuits & water) in ET cabins. Sounds good - unless of course it turns out that the words ‘meals’ and ‘refreshments‘ are - in BA-parlance - fully interchangeable ............
