Not directly, no, but it ends out working out that way. Let's say you are a new customer and start from scratch, if you spend 10,400 EUR during July 2020 on a long and expensive stay then you will get Diamond for the rest of 2020, you qualify for Diamond in 2021 via your stay in July 2020, and they will carry over your spend to 2021 which means status in 2022 as well.

So the spend and nights of July-Dec 2020 end up counting for both 2021 status and 2022 status... as R2 illustrated well with his example I think.
