If to them the perceived risk of flying was too much and it matters so much then they should not do it - ie don’t fly.

Perhaps it’s too much to expect adults to take self responsibility - and don’t do it then moan away afterwards instead.
Finally someone speaking some sense.

I can pretty much guarantee that not every passenger on that flight was making an “essential” journey, that not everyone turned up with masks, hand sanitizer etc, and that no one was forced onto the plane against their will.

If you’re not happy how an airline is managing your health, don’t fly with them. Very simple
