With the stay at home order statewide extended until AT LEAST 5/31 in Hawaii, the date when 'contagious' tourists are allowed to once again arrive by the thousands and fill the hotels, restaurants, and beaches is likely far into the future.

Given that such a huge percentage of the state's economy is tied to the tourist industry, particularly on the neighbor islands, this situation is going to crush the livelihoods of many living in paradise. I have numerous family members and friends out there already severely impacted with no income coming in.

I would love to be able to claim a refund for the thousands of dollars that United is holding captive for flights that will almost certainly not operate, but in the grand scheme of things, that's not terribly important right this minute.
