In Singapore, advice sought

In Singapore currently. UK national. Arrived recently but before the stay-at-home notices began to be issued. I notice SQ are already massively dropping capacity and presume BA will too.

The UK govt have advised against all travel overseas, but the foreign office minister said that if you’re already abroad you might be safer staying where you are. Looking at the numbers, that seems like good advice. I can afford to stay in Singapore (and pay for hospitalisation if it comes to it) and I do not have a home in the UK. I contacted the UK embassy here who were not very informative. Technically I could stay almost three months on my current stamp.

Anyone care to speculate (I realise speculation is about as much as I can hope for right now) if it’s likely that the Sg govt might start to kick tourists already here out, and what that would mean if there are no flights?

I suppose another question is whether there is anywhere else to go other than back to lockdown in the UK.
